Saint - Former International #WheelchairBasketball Player & Elite Coach

Saint is a highly accomplished #wheelchairbasketball coach and former international player, renowned for his exceptional contributions to the sport both on and off the court. A Class 3.0 player, Saint amassed over 300 international caps representing Great Britain, solidifying his legacy as one of the sport's most influential figures.

As a player, Saint was no stranger to high-pressure situations. He earned a Paralympic bronze medal at the Athens 2004 Games and played a pivotal role in Great Britain’s success at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, where he transitioned into coaching and led the GB Men’s team to a bronze medal. He was also a key figure in GB Men's success with a silver medal at the 2002 Gold Cup (World Championships) in Japan.

Saint was known for his versatility on the court, offering the GB Men's team a unique tactical advantage with his ability to seamlessly switch between a 3.0 and 2.0 unit. His mid-range skillset, which made him one of the first hybrid players to sit in the 3.0 category, allowed him to effectively play as both a guard and a small forward, revolutionising the strategic approach to #wheelchairbasketball.

After retiring in 2007, Saint transitioned into coaching, where he continued to make a profound impact on the sport. He played an integral role in Great Britain's international success as an assistant coach, helping to shape the next generation of athletes. Domestically, he spent six years coaching the Wolverhampton Rhinos, further developing his coaching philosophy and expertise.

Saint's coaching journey then took him abroad, where he honed his skills at top clubs in Germany. From 2013 to 2015, he coached Zwickau to a runner-up finish, and from 2015 to 2017, he led USC Munich to continued success, cementing his reputation as a respected international coach.

Currently, Saint is back in the UK, where he is focused on shaping the future of #wheelchairbasketball as the head coach of the WBA Academy. His vast experience, both as a player and coach, continues to inspire and elevate the sport globally.
